Lawn Core Aeration Soil PH Remediation Irrigation Tune-UpHow It Works
HOW IT WORKS
Aeration – Help your lawn BREATH with a core aeration! Compacted soil and root competition can make it extremely hard for your grass to grow, expand, and thrive. If you desire a healthy, thick lawn, core aeration should be part of your annual maintenance
Irrigation Tune Up – Proper irrigation coverage is crucial to a healthy lawn and a clogged filter or broken head can cause your grass to burn up in the Summer heat. Let us handle ensuring your system is operating at peak efficiency so this doesn’t happen.
Laboratory Grade Soil Sample – Acidic soil can cause your lawn to STARVE by impacting its ability to absorb nutrients. Are you throwing away money fertilizing when the grass can’t absorb it? Our laboratory-grade soil sample service provides an in-depth look at your soil nutrients and most importantly your soil PH.
Lime Application – We have seen the lab recommend THOUSANDS of pounds of lime for some lawns to correct the PH which can take HOURS using homeowner equipment. If that sounds like an overwhelming amount of labor you don’t want to do, we can do it for you!

Quality Aeration & Maintenance Services
Core Aeration – Core aeration is a process where a machine removes 1” wide by 3.5” deep soil plugs. This improves soil conditions for the grass in many ways. Primarily it reduces soil compaction, breaks up smaller root competition from trees, and improves drainage and airflow to the grassroots. This helps reduce fungus in the grass, reduces mushroom growth, and allows the grass to grow thick and healthy in otherwise difficult areas! Irrigation Tune-Up – As we go through flagging your sprinklers prior to the aeration we also check to ensure they are rotating correctly and adjusting as needed. We also check your sprinkler nozzles for blockages and correct sizing to prevent dry spots and upgrade them as needed. We will also replace any broken sprinklers! Laboratory Grade Soil Sample – We collect soil from multiple points of the yard after the aeration. We then send the samples off to an agricultural lab for analysis. Once we receive the results we send them to you via e-mail along with a description of any soil amendments the lab is recommending. We provide instructions on the exact amount of product to apply for your size lawn based on the sample results so you don’t have to guess. Lime Application – We use our industrial motorized spreader to apply the correct amount of lime based on the results of your soil sample. This saves you hours of time and the hassle of trying to source hundreds or even THOUSANDS of pounds of lime. Your legs and back will thank you!Our Happy Clients

Frequently Asked Questions
What do you charge?
We base our rates on your lot size which starts at $250 for ¼ acre and under.
How often should I aerate?
Doing annual aeration is recommended for proper maintenance however, some lawns may require more if they have a lot of traffic or a lot of large trees. If it has been several years since you have had aeration and there are large declined areas, we may suggest more than one aeration in a season once we complete the first one.
Do I need to cut my grass before an aeration?
Not unless it’s overgrown by 2 weeks or more.
Do I need to do anything special like change my watering after the aeration has been done?
No, you can stick to your normal watering and mowing schedule. We have found that applying extra fertilizer after aeration can help the grass spread faster and take advantage of the softened soil more quickly. This should only be done if granule fertilizer has not been applied within the last 60 days.
What is aeration?
Aeration is a process where a machine goes across your lawn pulling small plugs of soil out between 3-3.5”. Once it’s done, it almost looks like your lawn is covered in goose droppings. These soil plugs break down on their own and the small holes left behind will collapse within a matter of 10-14 days in most cases.
Do I need a soil sample?
If you haven’t had your soil PH tested in several years it is typically beneficial to check that to ensure any fertilizer being used is as effective as possible.
Do I need to worry about my sprinklers?
Generally no. Sprinklers should be 12-18” deep and our aeration machine is set at 3-3.5” deep. We also flag all sprinkler heads that would be in the way of the aeration to ensure we go around them. On occasion, there may be a shallow pipe that was raised by a tree root or a previous homeowner added which is not as deep as it should be and could be damaged. This is why part of our process is walking the lawn after the aeration is complete to ensure there are no signs of a broken or punctured pipe. If there is, we will do our best to repair it right then and there. If we are unable to repair it, we will discuss the damage with you and figure out the best way to resolve the problem to ensure your lawn stays healthy.
What about my internet and cable lines?
These utility lines should be buried as deep as the irrigation lines and should not be an issue. Like the irrigation lines, however, sometimes the utility companies take shortcuts and do not bury them as deeply as needed. Should you find that your cable or internet line was cut, most utility providers will send a technician out to repair and re-trench the line to an appropriate depth according to the building code at no additional cost to you.
Do I need to be home when you aerate my lawn? You do not need to be home as long as we have access to all areas of the lawn you need aerated and the sprinkler timer. If your sprinkler timer is located in the garage we would either need access to the garage or for you to be home.
I have new sod, should I go ahead and aerate?
Sod should typically not be aerated within the first year it’s been laid. Once it is firmly rooted and the lines between the sod pieces has filled in, it would be safe to areate.
